ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Program is a two-year, nation-wide project, created to enhance the growth and development of India's entrepreneurial economy. The Program is equally funded by Department of Science and Technology (Gov. of India) and Lockheed Martin Corporation, and was developed with the assistance of the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, IC2 Institute at the University of Texas, and FICCI.

The overall goal of the Program is to accelerate the launch of Indian early-stage technologies into the global marketplace.

The program features a competitive selection process. Selected participants may receive specialized training and funding opportunities. Top selectees will also be eligible to receive professional business development support to assist them in entering global markets.

The following are some highlights of the Lockheed Martin India Innovation Program:

  • Program is open to all Indian researchers, inventors, entrepreneurs and companies with early stage technologies that possess promising commercial potential.

  • Program Benefits - The program offers participants a number of training and educational opportunities designed to enhance their commercial potential. For example:
    • The top sixty program applicants will be eligible to attend the Commercialization Strategy Workshop sponsored by DST & Lockheed Martin.
    • The top thirty companies/teams will be selected to participate in additional training and commercialization activities:
      • Attendance at an Entrepreneurial Workshop focused on technology commercialization
      • A detailed QuickLook© technology commercialization strategy and recommendations report prepared by the IC2 Institute
      • Participation in an Indian Technology Expo.
      • Automatic enrollment in the DST - Lockheed Martin Innovator Competition, judged by an international panel of technology and business experts. Awards will be granted for:
        • Six Gold Medal winners
        • Six Silver Medal winners
    • The Six Gold Medal and Silver Medal winners from the DST - Lockheed Martin Innovator Competition will be invited to participate in a professional business development engagement with FICCI & IC2 Institute, to create partnerships in the US and other global markets.
